PROFESSOR AND CHAIR, DEPARTMENT OF BREAST SURGICAL ONCOLOGY, THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS MD ANDERSON CANCER CENTER

Dr. Hunt serves as Professor and Chair of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Department of Breast Surgical Oncology. She also is a Professor in MD Anderson’s Department of Experimental Radiation Oncology. Dr. Hunt is a graduate of the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences and completed her residency as a Surgical Resident and then Chief Resident, General Surgery, at the University of California Los Angeles’s School of Medicine.

Dr. Hunt has extensive expertise in Breast Cancer, Breast Conservation, Skin Sparing Mastectomy, Soft Tissue Sarcoma, and Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy. She is widely published on these topics.

Dr. Hunt has received numerous awards for her work. She received the Hamill Foundation’s Distinguished Professorship award in Honor of Dr. Richard G. Martin Sr.; A Faculty Achievement Award in Clinical Research from MD Anderson; The Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce as an Inductee into their Hall of Fame; and elected as AAAS Fellow for Medical Science Research by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
