Kathy is a licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 20 years of service to the community and the mental health of others. She has more than eight years of experience in the supervisory role, guiding the future generation of social workers in developing clinical expertise.
Since April 2006, she has conducted a private psychotherapy practice. Prior to joining Armada, Kathy served as an Outpatient Service Coordinator for dual diagnosis with Sinai Hospital's Addiction Recovery Program. She joined Sinai Hospital in February 2006 and was responsible for supervising the dual diagnosis team as well as providing clinical supervision. While employed with Sinai Hospital, she was engaged in the development and coordination of dual diagnosis services for over 500 patients. Previously, Kathy worked as the Mental Health Supervisor for Aroostook Mental Health Center in Maine where she oversaw the mental health team in providing outpatient services to the local community. During her time there, she also provided training to agency staff in best-practice of clinical interventions. While serving in Aroostook County, she held a position as an Adjunct Professor of Individual, Family and Group Practice and Advanced Psychosocial Practice for the University of New England in Maine. Prior to this, she worked as a Psychiatric Social Worker for Mission St. Joseph Hospital in North Carolina.
Kathy received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of North Carolina-Asheville and her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Tennessee. A National Health Service Corp Scholar award winner, she holds a professional license as a Clinical Social Worker in the state of Maryland.
